Happy New Year

Its been nearly three and half years since i blogged. I just accidentally browsed my old posts and really felt nostalgic. Life has been a roller coaster ride in these three years. on a personal front, i got married  and blessed with a baby boy. On the professional front, i changed couple of jobs and remained unemployed for most part of 2011. 2012 was much better and i would term this year as a resurgent year for me. 2013 started on right note as  I am just back from a wonderful trip to Sabari mala and  celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday in a grand manner. Pongal is just a day away and i wish everyone a very Happy Pongal. Well the rains have failed last year and  left TN dry. Cauvery water was also forbidden for us. Even after 65 years of Independence, we do not have sufficient water for our farmers. We are dependent on rain or Karnataka. sadly, none of the Government have even thought of a long term solution for this problem. Before signing off, i too have my list of wishes for 2013..

  • Lets have a good spell of rain on karnataka if not TN so that Cauvery will come for our farmer's rescue
  • Let this year be a safer one for women
  • Let this year pass on without any new scams
  • no natural calamities and finally..
  • no  more white washes for Indian cricket team
i sign off with the golden words of Thiruvalluvar on Agriculture.. Happy Pongal.

சுழன்றும்ஏர்ப் பின்ன துலகம் அதனால்
உழந்தும் உழவே தலை.
Howe’er they roam, the world must follow still the plougher’s team;
Though toilsome, culture of the ground as noblest toil esteem.
Agriculture, though laborious, is the most excellent (form of labour); for people, though they go about
(in search of various employments), have at last to resort to the farmer.
