Double Delite & butter chicken

May 11 seems to  be a lucky day for me. Its exactly on this day five years ago, i joined my first job. Luck favoured me again on this day with two placement offers on this day. When i got through Eduvision, (whose result i came to know on saturday night itself) i was relieved more than happy. But aviva certainly felt good. i am now happy for the fact that the very purpose of me coming to IBS  is over. But the only disappointment is that i could not succeed in my business. I had to clsoe down the operatons for time being. I need some money to start off again at the new location right outside the chilkur temple entrance. Well , my business plan was offering counting machines for the devotees of chilkur temple on a rental basis. This idea proved to be a master stroke as the investment is as low as Rs.10000. No wonder, prof. Patnaik encouraged me to implement this idea ( but had he given some money , that would have  been more useful instead of a case study on me!!!) I have learned certain things from this failed (?) startup. First thing is that one should not set up a business in a place if he does not know the local language or the local community over there. After facing some stiff opposition from  the localites in getting a shop, i could imagine the level of oppostion for TATA motors singur project. Getting their help and convincing them is most important. Second thing is employing the right person. Again i did a mistake here by choosing a wrong person for the job. Thats y even the best of the ideas and projects fail during the implementation stage. I think this would be my last post from Hyderabad, as i would be going home this week. This extended stay at the campus really helped me in getting new friends. Coming back to IPL, i am really happy as the Chargers and the mumbai indians are back to winning ways. But the Dare devils and the super kings are on a roll. Especially super kings regrouped really well to win 5 consecutive mathces. Looking at the current form of Hayden and Raina, this team is peaking at the right time. Well, for Delhi, Nannes is the most dangerous bowler, who is playing ahead of the gr8 Mcgrath. The stage is nicely set for a close finish for the ipl.
But 11th may ended on a disappointing note for me .. Well i was giving treat to some 15 friends of mine at the Delhi durbar.  We were served butter chicken instead of kaju paneer. I was one of the victim to taste chicken . I took two pieces of roti and then one of my friend alerted it was chicken... Oh  my God,   i was furious.. i was  shocked and I blasted the guy who served it and and also the owner  before my friends intervened. It took me an hour to get back to my normal mode...i came back without eating  anyting there and my friend helped me out with some mango juice and bhujiyas. Another hard lesson learnt, never eat veg in a non-veg hotel. Well, over these three months, i have been remixing some songs and even posted some of them in my youtube channel. Music really relieved my pressure during these days. I started off with recording just for fun but later thought doing it regularly. I have recorded more than 30 songs. I am still reluctant to post my voice.. although i am quite comfortable with me as a percussionist. Here is the link for my youtube channel. Just go through and do post ur honest comments.

Rat hunting & sneak O snake

Having brought up in a village , i was quite familiar with snakes, scorpions, lizards and the rats as they used to visit   my house often. Couple of days back an interesting incident happened, when i was in a deep sleep. At around 1, i woke up to find my room door ajar. I have a problem with the bolt as it was br0ken (thanks to shankar for breaking my door). Then i got up and bolted the door and checked the things up in my room and went back to sleep. But again i woke up becos of some noise inside the room. The noise was made by an empty plastic cover which was lying on the ground. I then saw a rat moving inside the room.  It  just sneaked in when the door was open some minutes back. As i tried to get it out of my room it just jumped on to my table , sitting pretty next to my laptop and looking at me as if saying do whatever u can . I was horrified at the site and i could see the glowing eyes of the rat staring at me in the dark. I got into action immediately, switched on the lights and went on a  hunting spree for the rat . My room is messed up with lot of things as some of my friends dumped their stuffs in my room. So after searching for half an hour, i lost my energy and thought of dealing with the rat the next morning. But the rat made my sleep miserable by making sounds or knocking down something in my room. Finally, the next day as i woke up, i kept looking for the rat but to no avail. Then later that afternoon, my uninvited friend, just sneaked out from its secret hideout. This time i took the help of my doctor friend to get the rat out of my room. Before that evening, while on my way to chilkur, a 6.5 feet green snake just ran in fornt of our bike. My firend who was riding it, screamed, shouted and put his legs on the handle..I was shocked to see his reactions as he was doing some kind of circus.. then i saw the fluroscent green snake running behind us. Oh... both of us were down on the road and it took us 10 minutes to recover from the shock. My friend was shivering as he was driving the bike...I have seen many snakes in my house over the years and once a snake was having its(  frog) lunch happily in one of the roof of our house. we waited for the guest to finish its lunch..I could clearly see the snake swallowing the frog right to its stomach.. It was there for over an hour and then it left the place. Actually both the incidents happened the same day , the snake incident in the evening followed by the rat entry. In fact, when the rat entered, i thought it was a snake as the thought of the snake was fresh in my mind. I was quite relieved to find out it was just a rat.

IPL vs IPL

Its IPL vs IPL here in India. I mean the Indian Premier league vs the Indian Political League. The battle for both the leagues are hotting up. Coming to IPL (cricket) , it has really caught the attention of the public , thanks to ICL for initiating it. Last year, both of my favourite teams the Mumbai Indians and Deccan chargers ended up at the bottom half. But this year, both the teams have started the tournament really well.I really sense that these two teams will surely end up in top four or even top two in this season. Also, capable are the chennai super kings and the Delhi dare devils. These four teams have it in them and i would bet these four teams for the semi final berths. The chargers are really on a roll with their superb fielding, bowling and not to leave their stupendous batting led by one of the greatest ever player Gilly. And in Mumbai Indians, the worlds best batsman sachin is there along with the old war horse sanath. What impresses me most is the bowling attack of mumbai, which is one of the strongest with Malinga, Zaheer, Bhajji and Bravo. I am happy that bowlers are playing an important role in every match and the contest between the bat and ball is even this time and players like Dravid, who is considered as a test player and a discarded one dayer now is leading the run table. I really miss my sip days  and friends as i used to have a lot discussions (?)  (fights ) during the last  IPL season

The second phase of polling is about to take place and i read this   in one of the site that the current election spending of the parties account for nearly 1% of our GDP. Elections are good especially during a recession.I had promised in my previous post that i would write about my entrepreneurial journey. So far, the going has not been good but iam hoping for a revival of fortunes. I am learning new things everyday and would surely put these into actions. Its realy getting late now as i have start at 5.30 in the morning for my shop. I will post more about my venture and my journey so far in the next post...

I came across this intersting blog allegedly posted by a Kolkata Knight Riders team member. It is more interesting than a fiction. He has revealed the happenings inside the dressing room and team meetings and night clubs. Here is the link,http://fakeiplplayer.blogspot.com/

Lets welcome the Enemy!!!

14th april is an auspicius day (?) for all tamils around the world as it marks the beginning of a new year( according to Tamil history and not according to  the TN chief minister). The literal meaning  of this upcoming new year "Virodhi" refers to enemy. Tamil years have names for every year. There are 60 years. So a 60 year cycle marks the end of one complete cycle of years. That is why in hindu mythology, people celebrate the 60th marriage (arubadaam kalyanam or shastiaapta poorthi). "Sarvadaari", the previous year, brought more troubles and hiccups with it for all. On a personal front, even it was one of the toughest year for me not only in terms of placements  and jobs but in various levels. Last week, i was quite busy with my entrepreneurial venture. I thought of starting it on 13th april, but sarvadaari denied me the opportunity, now i dont have any option of starting before 14th april. Most probably, if everything goes well, i would be able to start it by 15th april. I will post about my venture in detail in my next post after its launch. As one of my friend said, a teacher teaches a lesson and then conducts a test, whereas  life tests us severely and then teaches a lesson: Strange but true. Now a days, uncertainty is the only certain thing to happen to me. But it makes us tough and extra cautious. so, enemy is around the corner, lets welcome the "Virodhi". Happy new year to all of you...before signing off, let me introduce you to some useful utiities...

Well, i found some cool softwares which would be of great use to all of you.

HOW TO OPEN MULTIPLE CHAT WINDOWS IN GTALK:
Some of you must be having two or three gtalk user ids. But with the present system, you can log on as only one user. Now, i will tell you how to open gtalk windows in different user names. First copy the gtalk shortcut icon in the desk top and then paste it on the desktop. Then rename the copied file as multiple gtalk. Now right click on the multiple gtalk and then go to properties. There, go to the target tab and then after the last word just give a space and then type /nomutex and then save it.Now you can open multiple usernames in Gtalk. For video demonstration of this, just click the link below.

The second software tool is very useful for acquiring more space in your hard disk. Just run this software and then see for yourself. I got 2GB of extra space after running it. Here is the link

Rule 49-O

Well, this is the continuation of my previous post. As some of you asked me in detail about the provision of not selecting any candidate in a constituency, i thought of making it more clear. The provision is called Rule 49-O of election commission of India. There is a correction regarding this rule. under this rule, one has the option of not voting for any candidate by obtaining a form and informing the polling officer about their decision of not voting for any body. In this case, your name will be registered and one needs to sign the form or thumb impression in case of illetrates. The biggest problem in this option is the confidentiality is missing. Also this option of not selecting any candidate is not available in the modern day electronic voting machines. Also,.. there wont be any repolling or scrapping of elections as claimed by me earlier. Even the candidates wont be debarred from contesting the elections. For more details regarding the rule 49-O, follow this link. http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/ndtv-show-special-story.aspx?page=10&ID=3&StoryID=NEWEN20090082098&.

The biggest Election of the world

Elections are round the corner. The ruling UPA is aiming for a second term, whereas the NDA is hoping to revive its fortunes. Instead of agendas and manifestos, elections in modern India are won on alliances and not on issues. The likely spending for conducting this 2009 general election is Rs. 10000 crores. This is higher than the election spending of the President of U.S. I have never cast my vote once and i came to know that nearly 90% of my friends have never voted leave alone voting once. What is the thing that prevents people from voting? one day holiday? or long queues? or worthless candidates? or lazyness? .But unfortunately, most of the people stay away from their home town and they cant cast their vote in another city. This is one of the biggest impediment for elections. Can voting be made mandatory? what if the government punishes those who do not vote? During elections, every person should go back to his/her home town to cast his/her vote. This may sound stange but it is not impossible. But the ones who should bring the change wont do such things. How many people know that there is an option to discard all the candidates in a constituency by not choosing any candidate . If a sufficient % of people opted for that, then elections for that constituency is scrapped and repolling would take place with new candidates. Imagine how many times the Election commission has to conduct polls if people come to know about the option and start using it. It will probably take more than a year to conduct polls and announce the results. And i also wonder about introducing an eligibility for contesting in elections and  retirement age for all these politicians. This wont happen ever as 99% of our politicians are above 65. The government is yet to pass the womens bill which is pending for years in the parliament ( if i am right).Changing the system is necessary, but system is in their hands. They wont let it change but we can make a difference if we exercise our right of voting. How many people know about the RTI act and its uses. RTI is such an efficient tool today. It is like blessing in disguise. Many people does not even know about the existence of such an act. We can obtain any information regarding all Govt offices and their spending or our own personal queries relating to a particular file. One can even request the concerned officers to disclose the spending of a minister while going abroad and implementatio of various projects...After all it is our money. well i am going to vote this time although not expecting a change . what is the harm in trying? well what about you????
